Game Seven Breakdown
The Chinooks were shutout during their last two exhibition games over the weekend, including being no-hit in the last game; however, skipper Tim Cole was confident the bats would come around, and come around they did on Monday night against the Glacier Pilots. Olive Degenhardt and Louis Zulaica, the first two Chinook batters of the game, started it off with back-to-back singles. The Fish took a one run lead and never looked back, scoring a season-high nine runs on ten hits, eight walks, and one hit batsman. Degenhardt finished two for four on the night with one walk and two runs scored. Zulaica went three for five with a run scored, and Jayden Hill walked three times, coming around to score each time. Jacob Hayes recorded two hits and a base on balls. Lefthanded starter Nolan Livsey pitched six scoreless innings, getting himself out of bases loaded situations in the second and third innings. Peyton Niemann (i before e) and Jacob Hayes came on in relief to secure the team's third league win of the season against four losses. Final score: Chinooks 9, Pilots 3.
