Chinooks lose back and forth battle to Pilots at Lee Jordan Field
The Chugiak-Eagle River Chinooks dropped another close game at Lee Jordan Field on Saturday 4-2 to the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. Another pitches duel for the Fish, this time between Brayden Adams and the Pilots Braden Roesch. Adams went into the eighth inning with a 2-2 score but the Pilots would get two off the tiring Adams and that would be the difference. The Chinooks loaded the bases with no one out as it looked like a ninth inning, walk off win might end the seven game skid for the Fish, but it was not to be. A fly ball to shallow right field, a tapper to the mound and a ground ball ended it. Louis Zulaica and Dustin Isanogle would both get 2 hits for the CER club but 11 runners standed would lead to their undoing for the 8th straight game. This was the tenth and final meeting of the two clubs this summer. Next up for the Chinooks is a Sunday double header matchup against the Peninsula Oilers, game 1 will start at 2:00 pm at Lee Jordan Field.
